WHAT DO YOU WANT?-1
Nehemiah 2:4 “The king then asked me, “So what do you want?” Praying under my breath to the God-of-Heaven,” (MSG)

When the King noticed the countenance of Nehemiah, he asked him the all-important question, “What do you want?”

Friend, this is the point where men fail. I have gotten to the place of prayer before and even discovered that I personally don’t know what I want. I have equally had cause to discuss with people who needed prayers and discovered they don’t know what they want as well.

It’s a very dicey and funny situation. In as much as we are praying, sweating and fasting, I have since discovered that many are praying amiss. Many are praying general prayers without focus and direction.

God works with specificity; that was why in our earlier meditations we said prayer must be planned for. We also said you must take with you words. Aside the word of God, you must have what you want to go and say.

The reason why many people don’t get answers to prayers is because they don’t even know what they want. I am sure you have prayed prayers such as; Lord bless me, Lord make me rich, Lord give me car and so on.

Friend, those are general prayers and the question God will be asking you rather is Son/Daughter get specific, what do you really want?

Hear this:

Mark 10:47 “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”

Mark 10:51 “And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight”

The above conversation is one that always look appalling. The Bible says that, Blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging but when he heard that Jesus was passing, he began shouting to him to have mercy upon him.

When he finally met Jesus, rather than heal him, he asked the question again; “What do you want?” 

That’s the same question he is asking us today, “What do you want?”
