THE PRAYING KING-2

THE PRAYING KING-2
2Kings 20:1 “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die and not live.”

2Kings 20:2 “Then he turned his face to the wall and prayed unto the LORD, saying,”

…From yesterday…

Beloved, you must have an active and potent prayer altar. In other words, you must be able to pray for yourself. You must have a vibrant prayer life. If you are not a king who goes to war, judges the people, settles quarrels, attends meetings with dignitaries and delegates almost on a daily basis, and still doesn’t pray, you have a serious problem.

Hear this:

Psalms 86:1 “Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me, for I am poor and needy.”

Psalms 86:2 “Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.”

1Samuel 23:2 “David went in prayer to GOD: “Should I go after these Philistines and teach them a lesson?” GOD said, “Go. Attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”” (MSG)

We all kept talking about King David, who fought sixty battles and lost none, but what we fail to talk about most times is his dedication and commitment to prayers. As busy as he was, he never joked with his prayer altar. You won’t make it very far in life if you are not given to prayers.

As a matter of fact, a man who does not pray is a proud man. He is simply telling God that he can do it all by himself. The devil is afraid of a praying Christian because he knows prayer can change anything.

Come to think of it, King Hezekiah prayed and changed a verdict that God asked the Prophet Isaiah to go and give him. If, by prayer, he changed a divine utterance, how much more a demonic pronouncement?

The devil always wants to destroy a believer through his plans and ploys, but he knows that no matter what he says, once that believer can kneel in prayer and say something, all the plans will go up in flames. If you are the devil and you are privy to this information, what will you do?
