SPEAK BACK-1

SPEAK BACK-1
1Samuel 17:44 “And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.”

1Samuel 17:45 “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied”

Goliath spoke to David. He harassed and intimidated him with words. But I love the way the Bible records the response of David, it says, “Then said David to the Philistine…”

David waited for him to finish all his rumblings but unlike Saul and the other soldiers that ran, David spoke back! The reason why many believers lose the battles of life is not because the enemy is so powerful, skillful and articulate, it is because they lack what to say.

The moment you allow the enemy have the last say, you have lost. The battles of life are not won with physical weapons, muscles and skills, they are won and lost with words. Our battles in life are primarily spiritual. Hear this:

Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

If we do not war or wrestle against flesh and blood, it means our battles are against spiritual unseen forces. Now, how does a man travel into the realm of the spirit to fight against these unseen forces? Jesus told us:

John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

In order word, the spoken words are spirits. So, each time you need to control what is going on in the spiritual atmosphere around you, you speak words!

But not just your words or wise words of your ancestors, here is what you say:

1Samuel 17:43 “And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.”

…From yesterday…

Friend, hear me, “The blessing is superior to the curse”. Balaam knew this and when he got to the place where he was supposed to pronounce the curse, his tongue changed by divine manipulation and he started blessing the children of Israel:

Numbers 23:11 “And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether”

Numbers 24:10 “And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.”

Here is the conclusion of Balaam:

Numbers 23:23 “No magic spells can bind Jacob, no incantations can hold back Israel. People will look at Jacob and Israel and say, “What a great thing has God done!”” (MSG)

The same goes for you and I, the blessing upon us has made us superior to the curses. Now, here is where it gets interesting: When you attempt to curse a blessed man, the curse bounces back on your head. Hear the curse Goliath pronounced:

1Samuel 17:44 “And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.”

That was what Goliath wanted his gods to do to David, but here is the conclusion of the story:

1Samuel 17:52 “And the men of Israel and of Judah arose and shouted and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron.”

Everything Goliath threw at David returned to his head! Hear this:

Proverbs 26:27 “Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.”

Beloved, you are not just blessed above the curse, you repel curses!

1Samuel 17:43 “And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.”

…From yesterday…

One of the primary things Christ did for us on the cross was destruction and redemption from curses. He went to the cross to take our place and revoke every demonic license that the enemy has placed upon us right from the Garden of Eden.

At Calvary; the Divine swallowed up the demonic, hallelujah!

Christ also knows that life does not permit vacuum, so he didn’t leave us hanging, after destroying the curses of the enemy, he initiated another license:

Galatians 3:14 “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Knowing this principle is fundamental to our New Creation realities. We have received blessings that has rendered every curse inoperable. The blessing is forever superior to the curse. How do I know?

Numbers 22:11 “Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out”

Numbers 22:17 “For I will promote thee unto very great honour and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.”

When the children of Israel came out from Egypt, the king of Moab, Balak went and hired a “professional prophet” named Balaam that specializes in cursing people to come curse them for him. He promised Balaam great honour and wealth if he places the curse but what followed suit was beyond the two of them:

Numbers 22:12 “And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed”

God personally paid a visit to Balaam and told him something he probably doesn’t know. Balaam leant that you cannot curse someone that is blessed!

Friend, hear me, “The blessing is superior to the curse”.

NO CURSE-1
1Samuel 17:43 “And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.”

In our focal scripture, Goliath the Philistine, was so angry that he decided to curse David by his gods.

A curse is a demonic utterance or permission to stop good things from coming to a man, allowing evil and negative things to begin to happen.

It is an evil prayer or a malevolent appeal to a demonic being or force for harm to come to somebody or something, or the harm that is thought to result from this. A curse is also a demonic source of harm that is meant to stop and limit a man.

In order words, Goliath invoked demonic forces to stop David. The enemy knows how to use this weapon against people but unfortunately many people don’t know what to do to stop this demonic operation and cycle.

One thing many people fear is a curse but I have news for you, there is an antidote to curses, it is called blessings! It doesn’t matter the nature of the demonic curse or spell released, there is a divine alternative called the blessing.

What makes you and I so powerful is the blessing. A blessing is a divine permission to succeed, prosper and do well. We didn’t just have the blessing as believers, it was earned and imputed to us. Jesus Christ earned it for us that is why the first process of destroying curses in the life of any man is to get born again.

Galatians 3:13 “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”

One of the primary things Christ did for us on the cross was destruction and redemption from curses. He went to the cross to take our place and revoke every demonic license that the enemy has placed upon us right from the Garden of Eden.

At Calvary; the Divine swallowed up the demonic, hallelujah!

STRATEGY FOR WAR-2

STRATEGY FOR WAR-2
1Samuel 17:40 “And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.”

1Samuel 17:43 “And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.”

…From yesterday…

The word of God is the most potent weapon in the hand of a believer. No wonder, when it fell on Goliath, it broke his head! If you know how to use the word well, you will never lose a battle to the enemy. That is why David suggested that;

Psalms 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Your heart must be filled with these hidden weapons. It is an invisible weapon that is capable of solving any problem that confronts a man.

David knew that if he confronts Goliath in close combat, he might lose so he devised a long range attack strategy. While Goliath was waiting for him to come close and fight, he released the stone.

Friend, strategies and wisdom wins battles not just strength and muscles. Hear this:

Psalms 18:34 “He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.”

Physical strength alone will not bend or break a bow of steel, but strategy and the right implement will. Each time an enemy confront you, don’t just rush out without your hidden weapons.

The word of God are the stones of David. When you pick the right ones, arrange them well, and throw the right one, victory becomes sure. When the enemy comes against you with bows, spear, javelin and armour don’t fret, just release a stone.

Hear this:

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword…”

Beloved, never you go to battle again without a heart full of the word. Trust me, it is sharper than any sword your enemy might be holding!

1Samuel 17:43 “And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.”

David loved God, was righteous but one thing you cannot take away from him are the skills the Lord gave him. If you study our focal scriptures carefully, you’ll discover that he had a strategy and plan for the battle.

The young man had a shepherd’s bag where he kept the stones while he held only the staff and sling in his hand. The stones which were his chief weapons were clearly out of sight.

Goliath was holding a spear and the only thing in his head was how David intend to fight him with stick; iron against wood. But unknown to Goliath the boy had a perfect strategy for the battle.

The spear in the hand of the giant was for close range combat while the stones and sling were for long range combat. Goliath expected the young man to come near but David knew he could finish him from far.

Friend, in the face of the battles of life, have a battle strategy and end game in mind. When the enemy come calling know what to do. The stones in the scrip of David were hidden weapons of massive destruction. The stone represent the word of God which is the Christ.

1Corinthians 10:4 “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”

Matthew 21:44 “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”

The word of God is the most potent weapon in the hand of a believer. No wonder, when it fell on Goliath, it broke his head!

DON’T JUDGE BY APPEARANCES-4

DON’T JUDGE BY APPEARANCES-4
1Samuel 17:41 “And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him.”

1Samuel 17:42 “And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.”

…From yesterday…

Friend, you must also know the solutions you carry for your generation. The worst thing that can happen to a man is not knowing his gifts, skills and capabilities. Others may not know it but you must not be ignorant of it.

David knew that the toughness, mental agility and effrontery to defeat Goliath was already built in him when he defeated the lion and the bear. He was not in doubt of himself and the God he carries. He was so sure that if God helped him against lion and bear, he will help him against Goliath too.

Can you imagine the look on the face of Joseph’s brother the day they found out he was the Prime Minister of Egypt? If they had not judged him as a small boy or a vain dreamer, they would have treated him with respect. They wouldn’t have sold him into slavery in the first place.

Can you also imagine the look on Potiphar and his wife’s face the day Joseph was crowned as the Prime Minister? The same Joseph she lied against and sent to jail.

Friend, where have you kept your Joseph? Have you lied against him? Crucified him or even disdained him? I ask that the mercy of God will prevail for you today in Jesus name. May you never misjudge the men that God has raised for you.

I also pray for you; may the condemnation of the enemy never stop you, and may you not enter into self-condemnation. May you operate with the intelligence of the Father and see from God’s Point of View (POV).

Goliath judged by appearance and lost to David. May you see and judge correctly in Jesus name.

Above all, may you receive the insight to know what God is doing in your life per time even when it doesn’t seems to make sense to you.

Jesus our Champion came and defeated the Goliath of death, shame, sin and hell for as many as believed. We don’t know this by our senses, we know it by grace through faith.

Hear this:

Hebrews 11:1 “NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” (MSG)

You’ve got to develop your senses to the realm where you can perceive as real fact, what cannot be revealed to the senses.

Ordinary men get ordinary result because they use ordinary eyes. Extraordinary men have amazing results because they always look from God’s Point of View (POV). When you see the way God sees, you start generating outputs in the class of God.

Seeing from the perspective of God involves absolute reliance on the Person of the Holy Ghost. Never you judge or rush into decisions without consulting Him. He knows all the hidden areas of the journey or decision you’re about to take.

He knows the personality of the person you’re about to do business with. He knows men in their past, present and future. There is nothing hidden from his sight. We must continually learn to lean on him, trust him and base all our decisions on his inputs.

He knows that the small boy you meet today has the stuff of champion in him. He knows who we need per time and continually send them our way. Never you look down on anyone and never you allow anyone look down on you.

You must also know the solutions you carry for your generation.

1Samuel 17:42 “And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.”

…From yesterday…

My counsel for you today is; never to judge by your physical sight alone. Life is deeper than what you see on the surface. Size alone doesn’t define men. It is the inner eyes and heart that matters.

David has the physical construct of a boy but a heart of lion. He was a champion in spirit. Even his brothers judged him wrongly but he proved everybody wrong.

Many people have met their destiny helpers, wife to be, husband to be, business partners, pastors and even destiny parents but looked at them from the perspective of Goliath and ended up losers in life.

That a man doesn’t immediately look like his future doesn’t mean anything. If you check carefully, most seeds do not resemble the real fruits. If you disdain a mango seed and refuse to plant it, you would have lost out in having not just a mango fruit but a mango forest!

Both the soldiers of Israel and Goliath himself didn’t recognize who David really was. Goliath met his Waterloo in a boy he disdained. Hear this:

John 1:46 “And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see”

Nathanael met the Saviour of mankind, God himself and he disdained him. The reason why some people will go to hell is because they disdain the Christ and his finished work. Many wondered how the blood of a man that died several years ago in Israel can save them and that is what will actually get them into hell fire. Till this day, several people in Israel are still expecting a messiah.

Jesus our Champion has come and defeated the Goliath of death, shame, sin and hell for as many as believed. We don’t know this by our senses, we know it by grace through faith.

1Samuel 17:42 “And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.”

It is often said that, “First impression or appearance last long”, which is true but only to some extent. Wisdom and experiences has however thought us that appearances could be deceptive.

I often humorously tell people that if I was Goliath I definitely will not fight with David on that faithful day because appearances could be deceptive! Goliath asked for “a man” and they sent him “a boy”, one who is not fit to be enrolled in the army yet and the foolish giant still went ahead to confront him.

Life must not be run on the basis of physical sight alone. If you use your physical eyes to judge, you will always run into error. Samuel was perhaps the greatest prophet in Israel but he actually missed the mark on the occasion of choosing a king for Israel, all because he used his physical eyes.

1Samuel 16:6 “And it came to pass, when they were come that he looked on Eliab, and said Surely the LORD’S anointed is before him.”

1Samuel 16:7 “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

Beloved, appearances can be deceptive. Prophet Samuel, as powerful and accurate as he was, he nearly anointed a wrong man as king all because he judged by appearance only. God had to quickly step in before the prophet run into error.

Goliath looked at David and judged based on appearance. He was looking for a man but a boy showed up. He gave in to the dictates of his physical senses and lost his head to the young man.
