PURPOSE, DIRECTION AND SPEED-2
1Samuel 17:48 “And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.”
The narrative said Goliath arose and drew near, that gives me the impression of a man that was probably sitting and walking majestically. The reason why many people lose in life is because they are too slow.
Hear me: When will you start that business? When will you go back to school? When will you speak to that lady you want to marry? When do you want to take that big bold step?
I’ve seen people watch as someone else marry the girl they “were planning” to propose to. I’ve also watch people foot drag till someone else start the same business they were “planning” to do, at the same location.
I always believe that, it is wrong to say “The patient dog eats the fattest bone”, because eating bone is not a virtue. Some other dogs have eaten the flesh, marrow and other juicy part of the food, leaving behind the bones. I believe the dog that came late is the one that will eat only bones.
In the race of life, speed is critical. While Goliath was still trying to move, David took aim and shot the stone into his skull. The young man defeated the sluggish giant with speed and accuracy.
David ran promptly towards the giant and conquered him with aplomb. What David lacked in size, he has in speed.
We live in a rapidly changing, dynamic world where speed is of utmost importance. If you’re using a manual typewriter today, you will always lose to the man with a computer or even a smartphone.
As a believer, we are likened to an eagle not an elephant. It doesn’t matter how fast the elephant travel on land, it cannot be compared to the swiftness of an eagle in the sky.
I want you to sit down and document areas where you have been sluggish and move with speed and precision. Enough of people taking what belongs to you.
Once purpose and direction is set, move with lightning speed!
