KNOWING-1

KNOWING-1
John 6:6 “And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do”

One gift we must never lack as believers is that of “knowing”. This is the supernatural ability to display intelligence beyond the ordinary. It is being aware of things and able to act cleverly and judge shrewdly. Someone with this gift always have accurate and adequate knowledge.

He has information and secrets about a matter. He knows beyond the ordinary or normal level of things. This gift is a must have for every believer.

Knowing also talks about understanding and comprehension. It helps us to always know what to do per time. This gift also talks about the ability to make the right decision consistently. Hear Solomon:

Proverbs 2:11 “Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:”

When you know what to do, you are preserved and protected. Knowing what to do per time banishes confusion from the life of a man. In difficult situations of life, you may ask for help and counsel from others but it takes the gift of knowing for you to know which counsel to take and which to discard.

So, how do I operate with this powerful gift?

Job 32:8 “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding”

To operate with this gift, you must develop an unhindered cordial relationship with the Spirit of God that resides on your inside. It is the duty of the Holy Spirit to reveal to us all things.

John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you.”

In order words, the gift of knowing is an operation of the Holy Spirit. If you don’t relate well with Him, you cannot know, it is as simple as that!

There is a sevenfold dimension to the operation of the Holy Spirit and we must know it and allow for the full expression in our lives. Hear this:

VALUE

VALUE
John 6:5 “When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat”

One thing that distinguished Jesus was the fact that he was always thinking about giving out value to people. He is always less concerned about himself.

When he saw the great company, all that came to his mind was what to give them. How to satisfy them was uppermost in his heart, so he asked Philip about the possibility of buying bread to satisfy the people.

A great lesson to be learnt here is this; you must develop the ability and desire to meet needs if you will truly have a great company! The more needs you meet the greater your influence. You must be able to always see beyond “you”. The Lord already kept the possibility of meeting needs on our inside.

You must develop an insatiable hunger for enlargement and expansion. The reason God will bring a great company around you is because he want you to give them value. God is a giver and anyone who gives receives. The harvest is usually greater than the seed.

When you see people, what normally come to your mind? Is it how to get them bread to eat or how to collect bread from them? The principle of the Kingdom centers around meeting needs. Hear this:

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God is a consistent, perennial unrepentant Giver and that is what gave Him the capacity to handle the whole world. God doesn’t have any problems in bringing a great company around you, the only challenge is what you will do with them. If your reasoning is how to give them “bread”, you will never lack a great company.

The disciples doesn’t seem to care about the multitude but Jesus sure does.

Friend, we serve a Master that truly cares. Every time he thinks about us, his desire is that our desires should be met, aren’t you glad you serve this God?

GREAT COMPANY-2

GREAT COMPANY-2
John 6:5 “When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat”

…From yesterday…

Could it be that your family, company, ministry, vision, business and life are the way they are because of what you’re seeing? When you upgrade the quality of your vision, everything around you gets upgraded.

Hear this:

Genesis 13:14 “And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward”

Genesis 13:15 “For all the land which thou seest to thee will I give it and to thy seed for ever.”

Friend, it was the same principle at play here. When God wanted to help Abram, he had to change what he was seeing. Abram’s life could not be upgraded until the quality of his vision improved.

Our focal scripture said, “Jesus saw was a great company”. Many people’s company has remained small because of the smallness of their thought. I have come to realize that even though God gives a man giant dreams, the quality of his sight can dwarf it!

Jesus understood the principle of sight. He knew that God cannot do beyond what we see.

Now, hear this: Because Jesus already saw a great company, he received great resources and supplies from heaven to meet their needs. If you don’t see greatness, you cannot have great things.

Here is the question God always poses to man:

Jeremiah 1:11 “Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said I see a rod of an almond tree.”

Jeremiah 1:12 “Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen for I will hasten my word to perform it.”

The LORD told Jeremiah that, because he has seen well, He will hasten his word to perform it (paraphrased). In order words, if you don’t see well, God cannot hasten his word to perform it.

Your sight either releases the greatness of God or limits Him! What can you see?

GREAT COMPANY-1

GREAT COMPANY-1
John 6:5 “When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat”

What can you see? Your perception determines what will ultimately get into your hands! Many people look but very few see, and among those that see, very few see greatness!

Jesus was not alone at that place; he had Peter, James, John, Andrew and Philip to mention a few, but they didn’t see what Jesus saw. His disciples saw men that are hungry, tired and helpless. They saw hungry folks that should be sent away but not Jesus.

The disciples looked at the people but couldn’t see anything meaningful. Jesus on the other hand lifted up his eyes and the Bible says; he “saw a great company come unto him”.

Put differently, all Jesus saw was a great company that was about to happen! He saw beyond the tired faces of those men into their future. All he saw was greatness. He saw well fed, able bodied men coming to him.

The Bible says, “Jesus lifted up his eyes”, before he could decode the greatness that was coming to him, he had to lift up his eyes. This means that, he stopped looking around but rather looked up. This is indicative of prayer and receiving divine revelations.

Every time you lift up your eyes to heaven, God drops a great vision into your spirit. Perhaps, the reason you’ve been seeing smallness is because you’ve been looking around rather than looking up. God is the creator of all things; He knows what He has kept within each one of His creations and creatures potentially.

The earlier you start lifting up your eyes, the earlier you start seeing greatness. Nothing is small, everything is limited by the vision of the man that has it. Where man saw Adam and Eve, God saw the whole human race.

The word “Adam” simply means “mankind”. In order words, God saw the over seven billion people presently on earth inside Adam.

God saw a “great company” inside Adam and what He saw is still unfolding, thousands of years after. What can you see?

MADE WHOLE

MADE WHOLE
Luke 17:18 “There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.”

Luke 17:19 “And he said unto him, Arise go thy way thy faith hath made thee whole”

The statement of Jesus shows us that the ten lepers were all healed but were not “made whole”; that’s very interesting. Even though the healing took place, they were not yet restored back to the original body condition.

Leprosy is a tropical disease mainly affecting the skin and nerves that can cause tissue change and, in severe cases, loss of sensation and disfigurement. Many leprous people lose their fingers, toes and sometimes other parts of the body depending on the severity.

These ten lepers had varying types of disfigurement as a result of years of leprosy but when they followed the instruction of Jesus, they were healed.

Many people that suffered from leprosy who later got healed couldn’t do what normal people do. Many have lost the usage of several parts of their body and even though they were healed they needed support of others to live a normal life. Some needed men to bath them, feed them and do other chores.

Many healed lepers also suffer from stigmatization due to the side effects of the disease. These were the challenges those guys confronted after they were healed.

However, the one leper that went back to give thanks got something special in addition; he was made whole!

The word “whole” as used here means complete, unbroken, not damaged, unimpaired, not wounded, not impaired, or incapacitated.

This simply means that, every trace of leprosy was eliminated from his body. He was restored back to normalcy in all ramification. Missing body parts (if any) were restored. He also regained the full use of every part of his body. When you see him, it was as if he had never had leprosy.

Friend, every time you approach God in praise and worship, He always add something to you. You can never thank God and remain the same. Know that there is always more where whatever God gave to you came from.

Don’t short change yourself, let God make you whole. There is always a “space” in the life of man that only thanksgiving can fill!

ACCOUNTABILITY-2

ACCOUNTABILITY-2
Luke 17:17 “And Jesus answering said Were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine?”

…From yesterday…

Beloved, the Holy Spirit once told me that; “The reason the Book of Numbers was kept in the Bible is because He keeps records!”

If you think God is not interested in what you’re doing, you’re a joker and only deceiving yourself. God loves details and pays attention to it.

Another thing accountability helps us to do is planning. God plans and employs us to do same. We must be able to give a vivid account of whatever is committed into our hands.

Friend, you cannot afford to live your life on your own terms. If heaven keeps records, you should too. You must be accountable for your life, destiny; miracles received and even finances. A man that lacks accountability is an unfaithful man.

Faithfulness is accountability and responsibility combined.

1 Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

We are all stewards and as such required to be faithful. This is what God said about a faithful steward:

Matthew 25:21 “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

God rewards faithfulness with fruitfulness. When you are accountable to God, he gets committed to your course. On that faithful day, Jesus asked them, “…Were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine?” (Luke 17:17).

Friend, in the same vein he is asking us today; Have you not been sleeping and waking up over the past ten days, why is it that you only remembered to thank him once! On the financial miracle he gave you, where is your tithe?

Has God not been faithful to you in every area of life? Where is his praise and thanksgiving? Of the friends he has given you, where are the ones you’ve preached to?

Hear me: God knows what he has done for you, you cannot fool him. Heaven keeps record and will hold you accountable!

ACCOUNTABILITY-1

ACCOUNTABILITY-1
Luke 17:17 “And Jesus answering said Were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine?”

Jesus paid attention to details. He was aware of every miracle that took place. He was accountable to the Father. The principle of accountability has to do with faithfulness.

It will interest you to know that another word for accountability is responsibility! This talks about the ability to explain and be answerable or liable for whatever is committed into ones hand.

When this particular leper returned, the first thing Jesus asked was, were are the remaining nine. He knew the details of what left the banks of heaven the moment their healing took place.

Beloved, heaven keeps record, they know the details of the miracles you have enjoyed which you refuse to acknowledge. The number of tithes and offering you didn’t pay. The principle of accountability is one that is very paramount before the Father.

Jesus showed us throughout his earthly ministry this principle. Hear this:

John 6:12 “When they were filled he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain that nothing be lost”

John 6:13 “Therefore they gathered them together and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten”

John 17:12 “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept and none of them is lost but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled”

Can you beat that? Jesus after feeding the five thousand men excluding women and children asked them to gather up the fragments so that nothing will be wasted. Is it that the One who used five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitude cannot reenact the miracle?

Of course he can, but the truth is that he was teaching us accountability, responsibility and wastage prevention.

He also went ahead to show us in John 17:12 that everyone the Lord gave to him in ministry were all saved and none was lost except the son of perdition.

WORSHIP AND PRAISE

WORSHIP AND PRAISE
Luke 17:15 “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed turned back and with a loud voice glorified God,”

Luke 17:16 “And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks and he was a Samaritan.”

There are two things that always trigger heaven to act on behalf of a man, they are worship and praise. Another word for these two are glorifying God and giving him thanks.

This one leper use these combo for Jesus. Glory or worship and praise or thanksgiving are forces that always provokes heaven to action on behalf of man. However, what do they mean?

Giving God glory or worshiping Him is a sign of honour and adoration. When glorifying God, all you’re doing is telling Him who He is and letting the whole world know. This is just talking about and showing forth His might and power.

When you adore God, you’re declaring His awesomeness, capacity and capability. This comes from a deep knowledge of God’s attributes. That is why you hear David say things like:

Psalms 24:8 “Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.”

Those are expressions of worship or giving God glory. You do this not because of what God has done but because of WHO HE IS!

Praise and thanksgiving on the other hand is thanking God specifically for what He has done. In order words, “Saying THANK YOU to GOD”. This is a full expression of gratitude. One of the most powerful words in the world both to God and man are these two words, “Thank you”.

The world is full of ingrates. People who think they deserve whatever God or man does for them. These are people who takes things for granted. They are ungrateful folks who behaved like the other nine lepers.

Those other nine lepers equally got healed, they knew it and felt it. Assuming they went to show themselves to the priest why didn’t they come back to the one that sent them? Very simple “ingratitude”.

Why not pray that: Lord, I receive a grateful heart in Jesus name.

LOUD PRAISE

LOUD PRAISE
Luke 17:15 “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed turned back and with a loud voice glorified God,”

Luke 17:16 “And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks and he was a Samaritan.”

When this “one leper” saw that he was healed, he didn’t just return to Jesus, he returned with a loud voice glorifying God. Not only that, he fell on his face at his feet. This guy was genuinely shouting and glorifying God.

I noticed something very funny in our days, we use the word “the Lord has done it” carelessly. When we say “thank God”, we just say it as a general statement not one of intent. When we have a miracle and tell our friends that it is God that did it, they still go ahead to add, “We know it is God but can you really tell me what you did?”

That shows they didn’t believe it but most times I don’t really blame folks that talks like that, it is not just their fault, it is the way we communicated our thanks!

Friend, if you are truly grateful, there is a way you shout it that even the devil and hell knows you mean it. This particular leper wasn’t just happy, he was truly grateful beyond words. The Bible even says he prostrated! This is the exact picture of a grateful man.

In case you don’t know, shout is a potent part of praise and thanksgiving. You cannot contain a man that is truly grateful. Have you ever had an experience that blew you away such that you celebrated without caution? That is an expression heaven want to see from time to time!

Hear this:

Psalms 47:1 “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.”

Ps 47:5 “God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.”

Friend, even God shouts, so we cannot afford to be quiet. The winning side is always the shouting side. When you’re quiet in victory, it simply shows you’re an ungrateful fellow.

Spontaneous praise should always ooze out of our lives. You must never allow the enemy keep you quiet.

Friend, SHOUT to the LORD!

HE TURNED BACK

HE TURNED BACK
Luke 17:15 “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed turned back and with a loud voice glorified God,”

This one leper that turned back is just so unique. He has a beautiful spirit. He knows how to stay connected to the source!

Immediately he realized he was healed, he didn’t continue on the trip to the priest to observe religious rights, he simply returned to the healer! He must have reasoned that the one who sent him was of more value than the one he was going to meet.

Luke 17:14 “…Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass that, as they went, they were cleansed”

Earlier on, the ten of them were asked to go show themselves to the priests, but he suddenly realized that the one who sent them was not just a priest but the High Priest!

The problem many people have in life is that they have very short memories. They easily forget their source and never return. It must have occurred to this leper that he was already connected to the source of life, power, breakthrough and miracles, why look for alternatives!

Although the Bible didn’t tell us what happened to the other nine but I presume they simply went to the priests, got their healings confirmed and returned to their homes and regular lives. Unfortunately, they got detached from the Source!

Friend, there is more where that one came from. God is inexhaustible, he never finishes, what he did for you is just a tip of the iceberg. Hear what Paul said:

Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us,”

What you are asking God to do is infinitesimal compared to what he can do! Don’t be so engrossed with a microscopic miracle that giant ones evade you.

A popular adage says, “Any river that forgets its source will run dry”. You must endeavor to stay connected to your Source. God is the source of all things and nothing must replace HIM in our lives.

It will take the source of your miracle to retain it, always return!
