STRICT ADHERENCE TO THE WORD
Joshua 1:7 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.”

Beloved, you won’t travel far with God if all you do is selective adherence to His instructions. Many people only choose to do what suits them. They obey the seemingly easy stuff and neglect the ones they considered difficult.

Some folks even classifies some instructions as Old Testament stuff only when it hits them hard. Thank God for the revelations of the New Testament but never forget that God didn’t give us a half Bible!

Many believers obey God only to the degree of convenience, once an instruction looks a bit inconveniencing, they look for a way to explain it away. Remember, you cannot deal with God on your own terms, it has to be on His own terms or nothing at all. We didn’t create him, He created and made us.

Joshua must have learnt from the experience of Moses that only full obedience to God would bring about their success.

Our focal scripture clearly shows us that we cannot choose our own path and expect God to rubber stamp it. I’ve met men who won’t sow neither will they give, yet they’re busy doing prayer and fasting to become rich.

Hear me, God will not break His own laws. The reason the Bible is called the law of God is because He bind Himself with His laws as well. When He needed to bring many sons to glory, He gave His only begotten son. God could have forced everybody to become born again and serve Him and we won’t have a choice but He is too righteous to be unjust.

Strict adherence to the instructions of God got Joshua and the children of Israel safely to the Promised Land. How on earth do you think you will get to your own Promised Land by flouting every available instruction?

Friend, ask Him for detailed and specific instructions that will birth your dreams. Remember, people don’t break laws, it is laws that break men!
