Strength! Courage!-4
Joshua 1:6 “Be strong and of a good courage for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.”

…From yesterday…

Courage is that secret ingredient that triggers the activity of the Divine around a man. Hear this:

Hebrews 10:35 “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.”

God rewarding and blessing you is not the problem, lack of courage is.

Noah had to pick up courage to build the ark even though it has never rained on earth as of then. How do you think he got all the animals into the ark? You guessed right, courage!

It took all the courage Abraham had to follow the Voice of an invisible God, leading him away from his father’s house to a land he has never been before (from known to unknown). It must have taken greater courage to sacrifice a son he waited for twenty five years to have!

Jochebed needed courage to keep young Moses at home for three months against the king’s decree.

Moses himself had to pick up courage to go back to confront Pharaoh after been declared wanted for murder. He had to summon courage to face the magicians, astrologers, soothsayers, witches, gods and goddesses of Egypt. He also needed courage to confront the Red Sea as well as the harsh conditions of the Desert.

The three Hebrew boys needed courage to confront King Nebuchadnezzar and the fiery furnace. Daniel courageously kept praying to God despite the king’s decree. He courageously faced the lions in their den as well.

Jesus courageously faced death on the cross. Paul and the other Apostles picked up courage to preach Christ at the expense of their lives, we can go on and on but the bottom line is this:

Hebrews 10:35 “Do not lose your courage, then, because it brings with it a great reward.” (GNB)

If you want to go far in the journey of this New Year, go pick up your courage where you’ve left it, Selah!
