2Kings 20:2 “Then he turned his face to the wall and prayed unto the LORD, saying,”
 
2Kings 20:3 “I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.”

2Kings 16:4 “He also participated in the activities of the neighborhood sex-and-religion shrines that flourished all over the place.”
 
Ahaz made the A-list of abominable kings in Israel. 
 
He didn’t just stop at carrying out abominable stuff; he plundered the God’s Temple and even set up another worship centre. He stole the bronze in God’s house and replaced them with ordinary stones.
 
2Kings 16:17 “Then King Ahaz proceeded to plunder The Temple furniture of all its bronze. He stripped the bronze from The Temple furnishings, even salvaged the four bronze oxen that supported the huge basin, The Sea, and set The Sea unceremoniously on the stone pavement.” (MSG)
 
That was the lineage from which King Hezekiah emerged. But then he decided to act differently. His father served the devil wholeheartedly, but he refused to follow suit. 
 
Beloved, you can change the negative order in your background. What stopped your ancestors should not necessarily stop you. A negative history can become positive for you. The fact that nobody has served the Living God in your lineage is not an excuse for you to follow them. Your life can take a positive new turn.
 
A wise man said, “If you don’t come from a rich family, a rich family must come from you.” It’s not just about wealth alone, but in every other area as well. You can change the trajectory of your life and lineage. 
 
What did King Hezekiah do?
 
2Kings 18:1 “In the third year of Hoshea, son of Elah, king of Israel, Hezekiah, son of Ahaz began his rule over Judah.” 
 
2Kings 18:2 “He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he ruled for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah, daughter of Zechariah.” (MSG)
