RIGHTEOUSNESS PAYS-3
2Kings 20:2 “Then he turned his face to the wall and prayed unto the LORD, saying,”
 
2Kings 20:3 “I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.”

Isaiah 38:19 “The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day; the father to the children shall make known thy truth.” 
 
Isaiah 38:20 “The LORD was ready to save me; therefore, we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.”
 
Powerful words there! 
 
Hezekiah practically challenged God; put differently, he was asking God what He stands to gain from his death! He started recounting how he used to give God praise and celebrate Him. Beloved, God was left with no choice but to spear him.
 
King Hezekiah was a great worshipper; God knew he would miss that if Hezekiah died prematurely. There are things we do that matter greatly to the Divine. 
 
I believe Hezekiah learnt this from his great-grandfather and psalmist himself, King David. Hear what the great psalmist said himself:
 
Psalms 115:17 “Dead people can’t praise GOD– not a word to be heard from those buried in the ground.”
 
Psalms 115:18 “But we bless GOD, oh yes– we bless him now, we bless him always! Hallelujah!” (MSG)
 
When we saw from scriptures that David fought sixty-battles and lost none, there was a clear reason. A righteous worshipper of God can’t die cheaply. David knew that so well. He was not just serving God and worshipping; he knew it strongly. Each time David goes to battle, God misses him in the Temple! 
 
God is always eager for his return so that he can hear quality praise from him. Many people don’t praise God; the only time when God hears their voice is when there is a challenge. Don’t be that kind of believer around God; He longs to hear us praise him. It is part of our righteous acts around the Father.
