THE MOCKERS-1
Nehemiah 2:19 “But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn and despised us, and said What is this thing that ye do will ye rebel against the king?”

If the reason you’ve been stalling on what you want to do is because you’re being mocked or will be mocked, then you’re on the right path. Mockery is part of the price you pay for greatness.

When Nehemiah started to work, they laughed him to scorn. They were sure he was insane to have embarked on such a mission. People that have no vision and are going nowhere are always specialists at scorning others.

One of the reasons they mock others is to keep everyone at their level. When you get about doing something meaningful with your life, assignment and destiny you’ll be reminding them of their own failures. If you dare adhere to them, they’ll stop you.

I read in history how a medical doctor after series of hard work and research came up with the idea that if you wash your hand well it can prevent disease transfer. His colleagues and fellow researchers laughed him to scorn, but didn’t stop there, they forced him into a mental home.

If that generation is alive today, I wonder how they’ll be feeling. The truth is this, those who laughed at you will eventually laugh with you if you don’t give up. Hear this:

Genesis 21:6 “And Sarah said God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.”

If you see a ninety years old woman with a big stomach and she tells you she’s heavily pregnant what will you do? I’m sure you and I would be tempted to laugh.

Sarah, was mocked but she continued with the work of carrying the pregnancy and nurturing it. Eventually she gave birth and those that were laughing at her came back to laugh with her.

Friend, don’t let the mockery of men dissuade you from your dreams. Let them mock all they want, what matters is your result.
