YOKE OF SLAVERY-3
2Kings 4:1 “Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.”

Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (NIV)
 
Christ has made us free by paying a ransom for us with his precious blood, but we have a responsibility to stand firm and refuse to be burdened again by the yoke of slavery. 
 
The creditor is the devil, and he is always showing up with different offers, but the blood of Jesus has silenced him forever.
 
We don’t know the offers he gave to the “son of prophet” that warrant him signing a contract to enslave his children, but that is the devil for you. He is always going about trying to imprison unsuspecting men and women. That is why we must make up our minds not to become his prey. 
 
When he shows up with a sickness and you don’t deal with it quickly, he can enslave you to medicine forever. The doctors will just tell you that you have to live on that drug forever, but you must be smart enough to know it is a yoke of slavery. 
 
That is why you and I must know what we have and who we are in Christ. Don’t sell your birthright for a plate of porridge. Don’t even enter into a bargain or negotiation with the devil; talk more of allowing him to enslave you or your children. 
 
The challenge with those boys becoming slaves or bondmen to the creditor is that he can use them as his slaves or to sell them to others, which was what happened to Joseph, who was sold and resold thrice. 
 
If you allow headache to enslave you, for instance, he can sell you to migraine, then body pains, and so on. That is usually the plan of the creditor. 
 
Beloved, always remember that it is for freedom; we have been made free in Christ Jesus, but the onus is on us never to enter into the burden of slavery again, Selah.
