THE MAIN FEAST-3
John 5:1 “After this, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.”

So, what John saw in Revelations 19 was the culmination of all these steps. It was a vivid picture of the wedding feast of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and His bride (the Church) in its third phase. Let me explain:

The description of John the Beloved in Revelation 19 implies that the first two phases have already taken place.

The first phase was completed on earth when the Father (God) of the bridegroom paid the dowry. The dowry paid was the very blood of Christ shed on the Bride’s behalf! From then onwards, the church on earth today is “betrothed” to Christ. So, each individual believer who placed his or her faith in Christ as Saviour automatically enrols as His bride.

Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it;”

Ephesians 5:26 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”

Ephesians 5:27 “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

Apostle Paul shows us clearly here that the church is Christ’s bride, and he will surely return to take his bride! But, then, like the wise virgins in the parable, all believers should be watching and waiting for the appearance of the Bridegroom. This takes us to the second phase.

The second phase is the rapture of the church, when Christ comes to claim His bride and take her to the Father’s house.

Matthew 25:6 “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.”

Matthew 25:10 “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.”

The rapture wraps up the second phase of the marriage contract. The marriage supper then follows as the third and final step; this was what was described in:
