Luke 24:26 “Ought not Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into his glory?”
Luke 24:26 “Don’t you see that these things had to happen, that the Messiah had to suffer and only then enter into his glory?” (MSG)
…From yesterday…
1 Peter 5:10 “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle [you.]” (NKJV)
1Peter 2:21 “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example that ye should follow his steps.”
The pathway to glory may not be rosy, but it will eventually produce all the beautiful things you desire. Peter told us that there are things that will not be palatable on the road to glory, but then our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ travel the same route, so we are not alone in this.
It seems once we set out on the road to glory, all hell is let loose. The devil fights tooth and nail to frustrate and stop us, but the onus is on us to either give up or continue. Let me show you, Father Abraham:
Romans 4:19 “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:”
Romans 4:20 “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;”
When God set him on the path to glory, one thing the devil came with was doubt and unbelieve, which is the same strategy he uses against us today. The enemy will want you to believe that you have missed your way; he will even tell you that God didn’t send you or has left you!
All he aims to achieve is for you to give up. One of the “glories” that came out of Abraham was the birth of Isaac, through whose lineage the Messiah eventually came. He threw doubt at Abraham, but the man held steady and refused to cooperate with the enemy until Isaac came.
On the pathway to glory, there will be assaults from hell, but we must never give up, knowing full well that our ability to remain calm and unwavering through the pain is a prerequisite to greatness.
Friend, the pathway to glory is usually not what we bargain for, but we must learn to endure and keep going against all odds!
