Luke 24:13 “And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.”
Luke 24:14 “And they talked together of all these things which had happened.”
…From yesterday…
Psalms 50:23 “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me, and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.”
The above scripture points our attention to something very pertinent, which is the fact that there is a way we must organise and order our conversations before God; there is a right and wrong way to speak before the Father.
Friend, it doesn’t matter how crowded a room is; when a mother hears the voice of her child, she will pick him or her up, even if it is dark! The same goes for the word of God. It doesn’t matter how dark or terrible a situation is; once you speak the word, you will catch the attention of Jesus, and he will show up.
Look at this instance:
Acts 8:5 “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them.”
Acts 8:6 “And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.”
Acts 8:7 “For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them, and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.”
Acts 8:8 “And there was great joy in that city.”
Evangelist Philip went to preach in the city of Samaria, and as he declared the word, God showed up, and several people got born again. Revival broke out in the city, and a multitude of people surrendered to Jesus.
But, as that great revival was going on, something interesting happened far away in the wilderness in Africa:
Acts 8:26 “And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go towards the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.”
Acts 8:27 “And he arose and went, and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,”
