Mark 8:24 “And he looked up and said, I see men as trees, walking.”
Mark 8:25 “After that he put his hands again upon his eyes and made him look up; and he was restored and saw every man clearly.”
…From yesterday…
He didn’t just create the earth; he kept at it till the trees, the living and creeping things, and man were created. It may not look perfect at once, but there is always room for improvement. Rather than getting apprehensive, wait for the second touch.
Dr. Maxwell Maltz said, “When Pablo Casals reached 95, a young reporter threw him a question: “Mr. Casals, you are 95 and the greatest cellist that ever lived. Why do you still practice six hours a day?” And Mr. Casals answered, “Because I think I’m making progress.””
Your goal should be to make progress every day of your life. Stagnant water always smells. If a 95-year-old man is still running after perfection, it means you are definitely too young to give up on your efforts!
In the course of their conversation at a dinner party, Albert Einstein’s young neighbour asked the white-haired scientist, “What are you actually by profession?”
“I devote myself to the study of physics,” Einstein replied.
The girl looked at him in astonishment. “You mean to say you study physics at your age?” she exclaimed. “I finished mine a year ago.” (Today in the Word, September 25, 1992).
That is the bane of many people. They don’t keep at it; they don’t seek after getting better and better each day. The truth is that with God, there is always better, not best. When you think what you have is the best, you’ll be shocked because, the next moment, something better will show up.
Every serious manufacturing company has a Research and Development department in a bid to develop and manufacture a better product. That is why global companies such as Apple will always release a newer version of the iPhone.
Jesus was not afraid of progress and betterment, which is why he boldly asked the blind man after laying hands on him, “Do you see anything?” Mark 8:23 (MSG).
