Mark 8:22 “And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him and besought him to touch him.”
…From yesterday…
Our focal scripture said, “…they bring a blind man unto him and besought him to touch him.”
Hear me, you can still bring yourself to him today! You can bring your hurting friends, relatives, colleagues, and even enemies. Our Master is still in the business of touching people, lives, homes, businesses, et al.
Look at these instances:
Matthew 14:14 “And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.”
Matthew 20:34 “So Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.”
In both instances, he had compassion and touched them. Nobody ever got touched by Jesus and remained the same. His touch is one of power, beauty, authority, healing, deliverance, compassion, and love all rolled into one. He doesn’t just know what to touch; he knows where and how to touch! Such is the beauty of his touch.
Now, let me show you something interesting:
Mark 10:13 “And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them; and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.”
Mark 10:14 “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
Mark 10:15 “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
Mark 10:16 “And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”
Many times, people try to monopolize God and keep us away from His loving touch. His disciples fenced people off from the Master in the passage above. They rebuked the people who brought those children, but when Jesus saw it, he rebuked his disciples.
Beloved, Jesus didn’t just touch those little children; he carried and embraced them. Oh, how I love Jesus! Friend, run into his warm embrace today and enjoy the best of touches, Selah!
