2Kings 7:1 “Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.”

It doesn’t matter the challenge confronting you, the solution is packaged in the word of God, know this and know peace.

Elisha gave a “simple” prophesy and that marked the end of famine. However, he started prophesying by telling them to first and foremost “…Hear ye the word of the LORD…”

I have come to discover as a pastor that when people have challenges, the last thing they want to hear is the “word of the LORD.” People just want you to say or do something that will solve the problem quickly. When you give them Bible verses to read and pray with, they won’t.

God is not a magician, He is a miracle worker and there is no solution outside His word. Until His word goes forth, solutions will be inaccessible. Hear what He said:

Psalms 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

As powerful and fearful as God’s names are, one thing he magnifies more than his names is his word. Every ability of God resides in his word. His word is what sets miracles in motion!

When God himself had challenges in Genesis 1, he had to turn to the word for solutions. The only thing he had, which he used as raw materials to create the world and rescue it from darkness was the word.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

God shaped the earth and our entire universe with the instrument of his word. So, you and I can only solve our problems by relying on the word as well. No challenge can be stronger than God’s word released from our mouth!

To be continued…
