…From yesterday…

After the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus, two disciples were sad as they travelled to Emmaus. They were talking about Jesus when suddenly a strange man joined them and began to converse with them.

That man was Jesus Christ himself and they journeyed for hours together talking but they didn’t recognise him because their inner eyes were closed. This is a typical case of lack of discernment.

This story in Luke 24 shows us that many people have been joined in a like manner and travelling the journey of life with demonic spirits. They are conversing with spirits, exposing their desires to familiar spirits that want to hurt them.

The challenge of many organisations for example, are the internal saboteurs. These are people who are frustrating their plans and strategies. These internal enemies are the ones behind the downfall of the organisation yet they are applauded as the best staff.

We have heard several instances of couples planning to wed only for the husband or wife to be to pull out at the last minute to marry the best lady or best man.

Delilah joined Samson on his life journey and he didn’t know. He was sleeping with his enemy until he was killed. Look at something very disturbing in the same Luke 24:

Luke 24:28 “And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.”

Luke 24:29 “But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.”

Luke 24:30 “And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.”

Those two disciples took the “strange man” to their house and had dinner with him. What if it was not Jesus?

Friend, stop dinning with the enemy, ask God for discernment! Lift up your eyes and see, Selah!
