2Kings 6:6 “And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.”

I have come to discover that in times of crisis, the solution to whatever challenge we are having is always close by! God has already made a provision for a way out and has kept the solution in us or very close to us.

It is always as if he knew the problem will come up which of course he does. God makes sure he has prepared us for the solution long before the problem occurs. In this case, they were felling a tree and the axe head flew off into river; Prophet Elisha didn’t need to travel far to get the problem solved, all he did was cut a piece from the tree and threw into the river for the recovery of the iron axe head.

The solution was brought about by the circumstances of the crisis itself. The answer is either always within the crisis or kept very close by. Also learn that, if the solution is not already within you it is definitely in someone close to you.

Let me show you an instance:

2Kings 4:1 “The widow of a member of a group of prophets went to Elisha and said, “Sir, my husband has died! As you know, he was a God-fearing man, but now a man he owed money to has come to take away my two sons as slaves in payment for my husband’s debt.””

2Kings 4:2 “”What shall I do for you?” he asked. “Tell me, what do you have at home?” “Nothing at all, except a small jar of olive oil,” she answered.”

2Kings 4:3 “”Go to your neighbors and borrow as many empty jars as you can,” Elisha told her.”

2Kings 4:4 “”Then you and your sons go into the house, close the door, and start pouring oil into the jars. Set each one aside as soon as it is full.”” (GNT)

I remember citing the story of this woman in our earlier meditation. This woman’s husband went and borrowed money and used his sons as collateral. But unfortunately he couldn’t repay and eventually died.
