A CRY FOR HELP-2
2Kings 6:4 “So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.”

2Kings 6:5 “But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.”

…From yesterday…

Do you remember this case?

2Kings 4:1 “One day the wife of a man from the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to GOD. And now the man to whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves.”” (MSG)

In this case, a prophet borrowed some money and couldn’t repay till he died. Some analyst said he probably died from depression but after his death, the creditor showed up and wanted taking his two sons as slaves. In fact he would have succeeded if not that she cried to Elisha for help.

Why did I go through this background? To let us know that even as a priest or believer alike, we can have overwhelming challenges. A situation that can make us cry and terrified. That was the case of this young prophet.

When the axe head got missing, I am sure what was going on in his head was that if the iron was not found, he would probably become a slave. Those creditors have no regard for the anointing.

Friend, challenges of life are real but more real is our salvation and way out in Christ Jesus. Truly the prophet cried but he didn’t just cry, he went beyond the tears, hallelujah!

Hear what our focal scripture said again, “he cried, and said”! The son of prophet cried but said something. He didn’t just cry and cry, he spoke! In life, you may shed some tears but make sure you quickly gather yourself together and speak. Let heaven hear your speech or request.

The young prophet called out to God! His cry was for help. He asked for assistant and he sure got it. One of our advantages as believers is that we can call out for help and our Father will show up instantly. A cry for help is all that is needed to bail us out of any calamity.
