2Kings 6:2 “Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.”

2Kings 6:4 “So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.”

2Kings 6:5 “But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.”

…From yesterday…

In the life of a believer, the nature of our job is not an issue because God’s promises rests on anyone provided he or she has something doing. Hear Him:

Proverbs 14:23 “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”

This simply means that whatever you are doing must end in profit. The Bible didn’t say there is profit in business, engineering or medicine but not in other professions. It says “in all labour” and all labour means any labour.

Any job you do can be so blessed that you make profit and become very wealthy. To God, working in an oil company is the same as farming or trading; once his blessing rests upon it, you are made!

Genesis 13:2 “Now Abram was extremely rich in livestock and in silver and in gold.”

Genesis 26:12 “Then Isaac sowed seed in that land and received in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord FAVORED HIM WITH BLESSINGS.” (Emphasis mine)

Genesis 26:13 “And the man became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and distinguished;”

Genesis 26:14 “He owned flocks, herds, and a great supply of servants, and the Philistines envied him.”

In their days, Abraham and Isaac were the richest and all they did was rearing animals. Isaac was even richer than a whole country! It is not about what your do but about the blessing of God resting upon it.

1Corinthians 4:12 “And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:”
