Numbers 20:4 “And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?”

An old saying tells us, “Those who don’t remember the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them.”

The children of Israel, kept putting themselves on the wrong side of God for forty years yet they refused to change. Every time they lacked anything, they murmured against God; these continued until the entire generation was wiped out.

Many people are stuck and stagnant in life not because they don’t want to advance but simply because they have gotten fixated on the same strategies and principles. You cannot be repeating errors and expect things to change.

Hear this:

Mark 9:29 “And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”

Put differently, Jesus was telling them to change tactics. They have prayed without results, they have probably fasted and still not gotten the desired result, the Master advised them to combine prayer and fasting! When the results you are aiming for refuses to show, there is simply something you are not doing right.

The word of God is infallible; it can never fail. If you use it right, you will get the corresponding and required output.

The Philistines failed every time they confronted David because they refuse to change. It is often said that change is the only constant thing on earth. A man that cannot change his mind cannot change anything.

The reason the religious bigots in the day of Jesus had issues with him was simply because they couldn’t change their minds. They had gotten stuck in the same thinking pattern and way of life that didn’t profit them.

I once read a story about a particular driver. In September 2019, he suddenly stopped the bus he was driving in downtown Seoul. The driver asked the passengers to excuse him, and he ran outside. It was to save a woman in her 60s who had fallen in the street.
