LACK OF FAVOUR-1
LACK OF FAVOUR-1
Luke 15:15 “And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.”
Luke 15:16 “And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.”
One of the major advantages a believer has, is what is called favour. In actual fact, when we come to God by giving our lives to Jesus, an aura of favour is released upon us.
Numbers 6:24 “The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:”
Numbers 6:25 “The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:”
Numbers 6:26 “The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
Numbers 6:27 “And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.”
A believer has the name of God implanted on him and God’s countenance or face begins to shine on him. The countenance of God which is also is face is another definition of favour. That was what happened to Jesus:
Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
Once you have favour with God, it compels men to favour you. It is this favour component that makes the journey of a believer easy. If all you have is what you have worked for, you have not been enjoying this component of faith. Hard work is good, but it is favour that makes life sweet and pleasurable.
Favour makes men give you things you don’t even deserve. It is often said that, “A day of favour can make up for hundred years of labour”. Everybody may be lobbying for the same thing but favour separates you from the crowd and gives it to you on a platter.
David was the youngest in the family but he was the one favour gave the throne. Where am I going with all this?
The prodigal son was begging to eat from the swine’s food and no one gave to him because there was no favour!
