Luke 15:15 “And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.”

Luke 15:16 “And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.”

The prodigal son was not just working in a piggery, he enrolled himself under a very wicked task master, and his name is the evil.

Sin brings a man into the dirty realm of pigs and enlists him into the workforce of the devil. Hear me; “A person that won’t serve God and who runs away from the presence of the Father are usually employed by the devil.”

When you easily fall into sin without your conscience being pricked, you have taken sides with the enemy. When you don’t see anything wrong in backbiting, stealing, lying, quarrelling and the likes, the devil has definitely engaged your services.

The prodigal son was working yet he could not make ends meet because the condition of service was terrible. To make matters worse, he desired to partake from the food being given to pigs but was refused. It is bad enough to work in a demonic piggery but much worse to desire to eat of the pig’s diet, yet his master said no.

The devil has nothing good to offer a man. All his supposed blessings always comes at a price, and it is called “sorrow”. Whatever you think you are enjoying today will soon become bitter in your mouth, which has always been the strategy of the devil.

Our God is a good God and he will not allow us go hungry. Hear what he said about working for him:

Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

Matthew 11:30 “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

When you enrol into the Lord’s workforce, you will have rest. He does not place anything heavy or laborious on us.
