FEAR GOD MORE THAN MEN-2
Matthew 2:12 “And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.”

The truth is that when you put your trust in God, he’ll keep you safe from everything men can throw at you.

Men are powerful no doubt but God is the Almighty and the All-powerful One. When you meet him and reference him, the fear of men will dissipate. Listen to what God said:

Isaiah 51:12 “”I, I’m the One comforting you. What are you afraid of–or who? Some man or woman who’ll soon be dead? Some poor wretch destined for dust?”

Isaiah 51:13 “You’ve forgotten me, GOD, who made you, who unfurled the skies, who founded the earth. And here you are, quaking like an aspen before the tantrums of a tyrant who thinks he can kick down the world. But what will come of the tantrums?”

Isaiah 51:14 “The victims will be released before you know it. They’re not going to die. They’re not even going to go hungry.”

Isaiah 51:15 “For I am GOD, your very own God, who stirs up the sea and whips up the waves, named GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies.” (MSG)

God asked Isaiah why he was afraid of some men and women knowing full well they are not eternal. God then went ahead to remind Isaiah who He really is. He told Isaiah he was his maker, the creator of heaven and earth. He also told him, He is the one that stirs up the sea and causes waves. God’s curriculum vitae is sure very intimidating.

When you know God, you won’t fear men. Hear Paul:

Galatians 1:10 “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

God is the Supreme One, he is the one that should be reverenced. The wise men knew Herod and respect him but they feared and reverenced God. They would rather respect the word of the Father than that of a king.

Don’t be a man pleaser, let the word of God take pre-eminence in your life, that is where your safety lies.
