Matthew 2:11 “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.”

King Solomon was not just rich he was an extremely excellent man, hear this:

1Kings 10:4 “When the queen of Sheba experienced for herself Solomon’s wisdom and saw with her own eyes the palace he had built,”

1Kings 10:5 “the meals that were served, the impressive array of court officials and sharply dressed waiters, the lavish crystal, and the elaborate worship extravagant with Whole-Burnt-Offerings at the steps leading up to The Temple of GOD, it took her breath away.” (MSG)

The queen of Sheba came to visit Solomon and the Bible told us that at a point, she fainted. What led to that?

She saw the excellence of the arrangement of things in the palace. How things were kept in their proper places. The dressing of the waiters and officials, as a matter of fact, an excellent man don’t dress shabbily. You must take time to be dress well.

Another thing she took note of was how they worshipped God; she was taken aback by this as well. One key thing you cannot separate from a man of excellence is order. Queen of Sheba saw all these in the life of the wise King Solomon and she fainted.

Friend, we must do whatever is committed into our hands to such an extent that it literally “takes away the breath of men”. Excellence and good work cannot be hidden, and a man of such quality always stand out!

Hear Paul:

2Timothy 2:15 “Concentrate on doing your best…” (MSG)

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” (GNT)

Paul also admonished us to do same. You cannot make progress doing haphazard word. You don’t do things in a disorganised way and expect the best from men and God. Life still rewards excellence so it’s either your best or nothing!
