INSTRUCTIONS-1
Joshua 2:17 “And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.”

Joshua 2:18 “Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee.”

Joshua 2:19 “And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.”

Thank God for Rahab, thank God for all her plans, kind heart towards the spies and all the other things she put together to save the men. She did extremely well but all that wouldn’t have mattered if she didn’t listen to what the spies’ have got to say to her afterwards.

She spoke very well and it was now the spies turn to talk and she listened with keen interest. As we will see subsequently, she followed all their instructions to the letter. She didn’t flaunt any of them.

The challenge many believers have with fulfilment and success is disobedience to instructions. One thing I ask people after they claim to have being in prayers for days is, “What did God say to you or concerning the matter”. Sometimes it may take time but He will surely speak and give instructions.

Most of the time it’s not that God didn’t speak but we were too busy talking to Him that we didn’t have time to listen to Him!

We put strategies together, hatch plans, simulate scenarios and so on but never listen or wait for God’s input. Rahab didn’t know the God of Israel but she sees this men as his representatives and knew that if she listens to them she will be safe.

What baffles me was that she kept them, provided for their needs but still listened to them.

Friend, do you listen to your spiritual heads? Do you wait for their instructions? That’s food for thought for someone reading this today.
