Luke 1:28 “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.”

Luke 1:29 “And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.”

…From yesterday…

Daniel was a prophet even though a civil servant in his days. He was passionate about the things of the spirit and the plight of his people so he began to intercede on their behalf.

This man fasted and prayed for twenty one days before he got a response from heaven.

Daniel 10:3 “I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.”

After three weeks or twenty one days, his answer came through the same angel Gabriel. The angel however gave us an inkling into why he delayed for that long before bringing the answer:

Daniel 10:12 “Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.”

Daniel 10:13 “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.”

Daniel 10:14 “Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.”

Daniel 10:20 “Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.”

The angel revealed to us that it was not his intention to delay for that long, as a matter of fact, immediately Daniel prayed, his answer was despatched but he (Gabriel) ran into a mob on the way that delayed him for twenty one days.

But, what was it about the message to Mary that made her special?
