2Kings 6:5 “But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.”
Our focal scripture shows that while they were busy cutting, the axe head fell into the water. Like I said earlier, the fact that God sent you on an assignment doesn’t mean challenges will not arise.
If what you are trying to achieve will make sense and impact down the line, it will be attacked! You don’t expect the devil to fold his hands and allow you a smooth sail. The Bible calls him our adversary:
1Peter 5:8 “Be sober be vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour”
The word devil or satan has being used in the Bible are the words “Satanas and diabolos” which means “to oppose” or “to act as an adversary.” The devil is always a force that will act antithesis to the believer. He knows he cannot confront God but he always tries to frustrate anything God is doing through man.
I also want to point your attention to something interesting from our focal scripture:
Jeremiah 51:20 “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;”
Jeremiah 51:21 “And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;”
Listen; the axe head that fell into the water is not just about what you’re doing, it represents you as well! You are God’s axe head, the intention of God is to use you and I to judge and destroy opposing kingdoms, their weapons and allies.
We are in a battlefront and the devil realizes this more than most believers. Everywhere you appear, the devil sees a weapon of mass destruction whether you realize it or not!
As a believer, you are a threat whether you mean to fight or not! That is why you should know you can’t keep going about thinking you are gentle and you don’t want trouble.
To be continued…
