POSTURE AND POSITIONING-1
Luke 19:5 “And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.”

While reading this, I asked myself a question: What if Jesus looked up and Zacchaeus was not on the tree?

Beloved, when it comes to spiritual things, there is a posture and a positioning that makes things come to us with ease. It doesn’t matter how much you wanted giving a man a gift, if he doesn’t open his palms, he cannot receive. Many people want things from God but their posture and positioning is completely wrong.

I once read a humorous write-up about a lady that died and went to heaven. She complained to God and said, she’s not ready to die yet. She showed God all the reasons from the Bible pointing to the fact that she should not die prematurely.

God listened carefully to her and gave her additional fifteen years and was told to return to earth. On getting back to earth, she went to a make-over store, changed her face, hair do, clothes and so on. She then refused to go to fellowship that evening so she can watch a new movie at the cinema. After the movie, as she wanted to cross the road to go home, a fast moving car hit her and she died on the spot.

On getting back to heaven, she was furious. She accused God of not keeping his word. God smiled and said to her, “Dear daughter, your angel was waiting to take you across the road safely after fellowship but you were not there. I’m not sure he would have recognized you either!”

As humorous as that may be, it explained the concept of posture and positioning.

Posture talks about carriage, opinion, attitude or frame of mind. It also talks about how people talk, voice tone and pitch, facial expressions, how they stand, sit and move.

Positioning on the other hand talks about location, arrangement, strategic placement and role.

These two factors work hand in hand and are very critical to receiving from God.
