Mark 9:2 “And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.”

Mark 9:2 “Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain, where they were alone. As they looked on, a change came over Jesus,” (GNB)

I want us to consider something else that Jesus did with these three disciples. Yesterday we saw that he chose the three from the many but something else struck my attention from our focal scripture, the Bible says, “…and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves…” or “…led them up a high mountain, where they were alone.”

We could see that one of the reasons Jesus took them away from the crowd or multitude is so that they can be alone. He wanted to show them something significant but he had to take them away from the crowd.

The crowd or multitude represents the hustles and bustles of our world. We live in a “crowded” and very noisy environment which typifies rowdiness and confusion.

The devil has strategically engaged men with so many distractions which has made it almost practically impossible to hear God. There are so many activities (beneficial and none beneficial) that have taken over the sphere of our existence. There are so many things that can easily take our attention away from the very things that matter.

God is organized, focused and does not operate in confusion. He loves dealing with man personally, away from the busyness of several activities we engage in. All thorough scriptures we saw him meeting with great men personally.

Every time he wanted the attention of a man, he separated him from the crowd in order to have a meaningful, heart-to-heart discussion. We saw him do it with Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, David and several others.

Can you imagine what would have happened if God decided to speak through the burning bush, to Moses in the presence of his wife and children?

To be continued…
