Mark 5:18 “And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.”
Mark 5:19 “Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.”
An advertisement (often shortened to advert or ad) is the promotion of a product, brand or service to a viewership in order to attract interest, engagement and sales. Advertisements are often a guaranteed method of reaching an audience.
Jesus changed our lives and set us up as adverts for the Kingdom of God! He healed us, cleaned us, freed us and so on, so that we can become proper representatives of his brand. He told the former mad man to go home and do something interesting; “…Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.”
That is a clear enough “ad” statement. His brand is the Kingdom of God and his intention is to win more souls and bring more sons into repentance and glory.
Hebrews 2:10 “For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”
Hebrews 2:11 “For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,”
Jesus’ assignment for the man was very simple and succinct, he asked him to go home and tell his family and friends what had happened to him. That’s as simple as the salvation message can be. If truly you have encountered Christ, it shouldn’t be difficult to tell another your experience.
Once you tell them, you allow the Holy Spirit convict them and bring them into the fold as well. Don’t keep your mouth shut.
Not only that, let your actions portray your new found nature in Christ as well, remember, you might be the only Bible others will read, Selah!
