LIVING IN TOMBS-3
Mark 5:2 “And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,”
People in the tomb or grave are hopeless. This man from Gadara was living in a state of hopelessness. He doesn’t believe his life could get better. He begged Jesus to leave him at his current state. He was satisfied with his tomb home.
If you’re feeling hopeless concerning any issue in life, you’re under the influence of this “grave spirit” and you must rise and fight back today! Hear this:
Romans 5:5 “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Romans 5:5 “And hope does not put to shame; because our hearts are full of the love of God through the Holy Spirit which is given to us.” (BBE)
Hope doesn’t put people to shame. You must never cast away your hope no matter the situation. The mad man from Gadara even though in a bad situation, got out one day, met Jesus and became free! There are no hopeless situations with Jesus.
A tomb also represents a place where people are abandoned and forgotten. Perhaps your friends and relations have cut you off, abandoned you and forgotten you, then you are in a grave.
Genesis 40:23 “Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.”
Joseph interpreted the dream of the chief butler and everything came to pass accurately yet the man abandoned him in prison. That was a clear case of tomb life. The man he helped completely forgot him in prison but eventually, God came through for him.
Genesis 41:1 “And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.”
God had to interrupt the dream of a king just because Joseph must come out of the tomb. Jesus had to travel through a stormy wind that nearly capsized his ship so that the mad man of Gadara can come out of the tomb!
I have news for you, in Jesus’ mighty name, you are coming out!
