1Samuel 16:2 “And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD.”
I remember hearing the story of a man that works in a particular organization in Africa.
One day, he had a dream where God appeared to him and told him he will be his battle axe and evangelist to China in Asia. He woke up from the vision very elated and immediately began making preparations.
He was the best staff in his office and the office cannot run without him. The daily operations depended so much on him. This young man went to the office two days later and tendered his resignation. His boss was very sad and literally begged him not to go. He said his mind was made up and that God had called him for a higher assignment.
He dropped his application letter and left the office without giving details of the “higher assignment” to his boss. He has made up his mind and was not ready to talk to anyone or take any advice.
The young man went home, began praying and fasting for the China mission. Days of fasting soon turn to months, then a year. By the end of one year he was broke, dejected and discouraged. Nobody has walked up to give him China visa or offered to link him up. He was confused and didn’t know what else to do.
When a year started turning into two, he changed his prayer points. He asked God for help, clarity and strategy! God then replied:
“Son, I never asked you to resign your work and you didn’t bother asking me how you’ll get to China!”
He apologized and ask for details. God simply told him to go back and beg his former boss for his old job back. He reluctantly went back and interestingly his boss was happy to have him back and offered him his old job back.
Two months after his resumption, his boss told him that the company wanted expanding by setting up a new branch in China and he will like him to go there and head the China branch if he wouldn’t mind!
