Genesis 28:16 “And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.”

…From yesterday…

Jacob eventually arrived at Haran, but he got cheated, labored hard, became very poor and clueless until God appeared to him; bailed him out and asked him to return back to Bethel.

The mercy of God eventually located him but not everyone will have that priviledge.

Friend, your current Bethel might not look “lucrative”, attractive and promising but once you know it is your Bethel, stay there! Work at it and in no time it will become all that God has destined it to be. There is a great future that God has pictured for you and I; the onus is on us to work at it and allow it to happen!

Hear this:

Genesis 28:19 “And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.”

The name of the place was first called Luz, but he renamed it to Bethel. The word Luz means, “growing”, “growth” or planting of a tree. While Bethel means, “house of God” or “powerful, mighty or strength”.

What does this mean?

It simply means that, at the place where God locates, places or plants you, He expects you to grow there and get your roots firmly planted. You then keep growing in your knowledge of God and your relationship with Him until you know Him better, become powerful, get well established and begin to produce harvests and fruits!

The challenge with many people is that, like Jacob all they see are stones and desert, so they takeoff for Haran believing it will be a better place. Haran might look better but it is temporary, Bethel is the House of God, where impossibility becomes possible!

At Bethel, heaven meets with the earth. It is a place of the altar where ideas and destinies are birthed. It is a place of glory, fulfilment and great accomplishments. It is a place where seed becomes harvest, it is the birthplace of all your desires!

To be continued…
