Genesis 28:16 “And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.”

…From yesterday…

Some years back, I did a little study and discovered that most of the elderly pastors around us especially in most rural areas in Africa were retired school Principals, Head Masters and civil servants. They labored hard for the government and then retired back to serve God with their “remaining” energy.

In the present day, I have had many people speak to me that they knew that God want them to be doctors, missionaries and so on but that is not “what is reigning now”, they’ll like to quickly do something else with their lives and then return to their original assignment.

A thief knows he must not steal because stealing is bad but he does it anyway. A liar knows that lies aren’t good but he still tells it. We know what is right but severally does what we want to do notwithstanding.

Beloved, once you’re clear about what God want you to do, pursue it with the whole of your strength. Depart from evil, go after your God given vision and assignment vigorously.

Jacob was able to come back, but not many people will have that opportunity. Samson just wanted to “enjoy life” a little and return to God, though he returned but was already battered by the enemy.

Hear this:

Proverbs 27:8 “As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.”

Proverbs 27:8 “Anyone away from home is like a bird away from its nest.” (GNB)

When you wonder away from your home, nest or place of divine assignment, your life will never be balanced, neither will you find fulfilment. The reason why many people are struggling in life is because they have wondered away from their nest.

Jacob eventually arrived at Haran, but he got cheated, labored hard, became very poor and clueless until God appeared to him; bailed him out and asked him to return back to Bethel.

To be continued…
