Genesis 28:13 “And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest to thee will I give it and to thy seed;”

Genesis 28:14 “And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed”

Finally, God appeared and spoke to Jacob. He first introduced himself as the God of his fathers, so that Jacob will know that he (God) is ever true to his promises.

After that, he then made some pronouncements. God didn’t just speak to the present day Jacob, he addressed his future. Every promise God made to him was centered on his seed.

God is a God of the seed. The seed represents the power to produce and create a desired future. The seed is the vehicle that conveys a man from the present to a glorious future. Everything a man can potentially become is hidden in his seed.

The seed is the source of every great thing you can ever desire. God knew this so well, so he decided to address the future of Jacob. He primarily spoke two things into his future, which are enlargement and blessings.

While a man is thinking of his immediate comfort and result, God is thinking of his future impact and enlargement. God knows all that he put in man and he’s more concerned about man becoming all that He deposited on his inside.

Our seed matters to God, his desire is for us to convert every seed to harvest. That was why the first commandment he gave to man was:

Genesis 1:28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

You don’t tell a seedless man to be fruitful, you only say that to a “seedful” man!
