Genesis 28:12 “And he dreamed and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.”
Another man that opened divine portal easily was Elijah. Hear this:
James 5:17 “Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.”
James 5:18 “And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”
The portal of heaven were shut over the nation of Israel by Elijah and for three and half years there was no rain. He then opened the portal again and rain fell. What Elijah did to open and close the portals was called “praying earnestly”.
Earnest heartfelt prayer is a key that opens and closes portals. The word “earnestly” as used here means intense, focused, forceful and without doubt. It is a prayer you pray until you see manifestation in the physical.
1Kings 18:42 “Ahab did it: got up and ate and drank. Meanwhile, Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bowed deeply in prayer, his face between his knees.”
1Kings 18:43 “Then he said to his young servant, “On your feet now! Look toward the sea.” He went, looked, and reported back, “I don’t see a thing.” “Keep looking,” said Elijah, “seven times if necessary.””
1Kings 18:44 “And sure enough, the seventh time he said, “Oh yes, a cloud! But very small, no bigger than someone’s hand, rising out of the sea.” “Quickly then, on your way. Tell Ahab, ‘Saddle up and get down from the mountain before the rain stops you.'”” (MSG)
The above was the account of what transpired in the place of prayer before the heavens opened over Israel. Elijah prayed until the heavens gave rain, the challenge of many believers is that they give up too soon.
If you will tarry at the place of prayers, the heavens will open and the opposition will bow. Earnest prayer is a portal opening tool, use it!
