1Samuel 17:41 “And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him.”

1Samuel 17:42 “And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.”

…From yesterday…

My counsel for you today is; never to judge by your physical sight alone. Life is deeper than what you see on the surface. Size alone doesn’t define men. It is the inner eyes and heart that matters.

David has the physical construct of a boy but a heart of lion. He was a champion in spirit. Even his brothers judged him wrongly but he proved everybody wrong.

Many people have met their destiny helpers, wife to be, husband to be, business partners, pastors and even destiny parents but looked at them from the perspective of Goliath and ended up losers in life.

That a man doesn’t immediately look like his future doesn’t mean anything. If you check carefully, most seeds do not resemble the real fruits. If you disdain a mango seed and refuse to plant it, you would have lost out in having not just a mango fruit but a mango forest!

Both the soldiers of Israel and Goliath himself didn’t recognize who David really was. Goliath met his Waterloo in a boy he disdained. Hear this:

John 1:46 “And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see”

Nathanael met the Saviour of mankind, God himself and he disdained him. The reason why some people will go to hell is because they disdain the Christ and his finished work. Many wondered how the blood of a man that died several years ago in Israel can save them and that is what will actually get them into hell fire. Till this day, several people in Israel are still expecting a messiah.

Jesus our Champion has come and defeated the Goliath of death, shame, sin and hell for as many as believed. We don’t know this by our senses, we know it by grace through faith.
