1Samuel 17:16 “And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.”

…From yesterday…

Friend, stand your ground against the enemy and stop his taunts. Let today be the day you confront your greatest fears in the place of prayer, fasting and confession of the word.

The longer you listen to the devil, the more you believe him and the more you’ll keep running.

Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

The interesting thing is this; if faith comes by hearing; fear comes by hearing too. We can invert that scripture to read something like this:

“Fear cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of the devil”. If faith comes, it means it can leave. Who you listen to matters. The voice that is uppermost in your mind determines how you’ll react when situations of life confront you. It will determine if you’ll run or stay and fight.

Saul and the armies of Israel spent forty days listening to Goliath and I kept wondering for how long they’ll keep running if David didn’t show up. The enemy has a way of wasting the time of any man that chooses to listen to him.

David didn’t wait for forty days, immediately he heard the threats he swung into action. He responded appropriately with the word of God. The soldiers of Saul were listening to Goliath, David was listening to God.

Beloved, your time is precious. Confront the time wasters in your life and bury them today. Delay is dangerous. The longer you allow the devil speak, the more he gains ground in your life and the less courage you have to confront him.

I have a feeling that if David didn’t show up, they will stay there and keep dragging the matter and one day Goliath will tell them to sign an agreement to become the slaves of the Philistines.

The aim of wasting your time is to force you into submission. Understand the tricks of the devil today and stop him in his tracks.

To be continued…
