BE THE MAN-9
1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”
One other quality of a solution bearer I’ll like to show you is his ability to know his dominant skills, potentials and values. Such a man must know the skills he has acquired, developed and trained.
1 Samuel 17:38 “And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.”
1 Samuel 17:39 “And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.”
There is an adage in my place that says, “You must first check the cloth of the man that promised you a new attire”. In the race of life, it is not everybody that is qualified to advise you.
Saul had the best war gadgets in Israel but couldn’t face Goliath. He then went ahead to put them on David and ask him to go use it. If truly those stuff can save why didn’t he use them himself? That is a sham! It is hypocritical at the very least.
Friend, don’t get intimidated by the attire of others. Don’t let the gift of others which you lack entice or seduce you to the point that you forget what God has kept on your inside.
That the other man can sing, dance or preach better doesn’t mean your ability to pray is not needed or potent. Every man is unique in his own way. There is no man that has it all neither is there a man without any skills.
To really “be the man”, you must have faith in your own abilities, talents and spiritual donations. You must be able to resist the temptation of putting on the garment of Saul.
Pick your five stones, sling it and throw it! You will be the answer to the cry of your generation and the one to stop the noise of Goliath in Jesus name!
