1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”

…From yesterday…

When David appeared before Saul, he told him not to be afraid! That seems unbelievable to me.

David was just a teenager, Saul was the tallest man in Israel, an adult and the first king. The question is who should be encouraging who? In the things of the spirit, the courageous man will always take the day.

I am always surprise when I study the book of Joshua.

Joshua 1:7 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.”

Jos 1:9 “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

God appeared to Joshua and told him to go ahead and lead the people to the Promised Land. I mean the living God. He promised to stand by him all through and so many other promises but yet he couldn’t get Joshua to move because a vital ingredient was missing.

That ingredient is called courage. Eventually, God had to keep pumping him with courage. Severally in the Book of Joshua chapter One, God kept repeating the word courage in his ears until he finally moved.

Don’t let life defeat you because you’re not courageous to call upon God. You must be bold about the declaration of God.

Courage like it is always said, is not an absence of fear, it is acting in spite of fear. You can never be the man if you don’t have courage.

Don’t let the opposition intimidate you and make you faint at heart, our God is not timid, so be bold and watch him act on your behalf!

To be continued…
