BE THE MAN-4
1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”
As a believer we must be able to boldly say:
Psalms 3:7 “Arise O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.”
The man that will be a solution and answer to the question of Goliath must not just know God, he must be courageous as well. Courage is a virtue that every child of God must possess.
That you know that God is with you is not enough! The devil also know that God is with you but that doesn’t stop him from tempting and attacking you. The devil knows that God had given Adam and Eve specific instructions and still went ahead to challenge what God has told them.
Not only that, the devil knew Jesus to be the son of God but he still went to him to debate it. The devil knows God but still goes around challenging the authority of God. It takes a lot of courage and boldness to do that.
When the armies of Israel hear the ranting of Goliath, their first reaction was always to run. Goliath did this to them for forty days consecutively and the giant was just catching fun.
It will interest you to know that the day David showed up, the war was won and ended.
When you study the attire of Goliath and his skill set, you’ll know it must take a lot of courage to talk back to him talk more of confronting him. Hear this:
1Samuel 17:32 “And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”
1Samuel 17:33 “And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”
When David appeared before Saul, he told him not to be afraid! That seems unbelievable to me.
