BE THE MAN-3
1Samuel 17:8 “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.”
David took Goliath to the spiritual plane and brought him face to face with Jehovah. He called Goliath an uncircumcised Philistine and called God the living God!
An uncircumcised man is a man that has no covenant with God. David had developed a personal relationship with God and he sure knows how to unleash the might of heaven against his enemies. Nobody else on that battle field, including the giant king Saul knew that the God of Israel was living, active and present.
There is a great difference between “I know there is God and I know God!” It is a world of difference. Everybody including demons, plants, animals and so on knows there is God but it is a different thing entirely to have the effrontery to call him your personal God.
The whole army of Israel have all been going to church or Temple as the case maybe, but beyond the four walls of the tabernacle, they had no relationship with the God of Israel.
If they had a personal relationship with God, they would have known instantly that Goliath is an uncircumcised Philistine. They would have known that their God is living and that He fights for his own children.
Unfortunately, the story is the same nowadays. Many believers go to church, enjoy the corporate anointing there but get back home without a personal devotional life. Those are the men that keeps running away, anytime Goliath shows up.
You cannot “be the man”, if you don’t know the One that makes men! How is your prayer life, fasting, praise and faith life? Do you really know God as the living God?
As a believer we must be able to boldly say:
Psalms 3:7 “Arise O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.”
