John 6:11 “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down and likewise of the fishes as much as they would”
When Jesus finished giving thanks and started distributing the five loaves and two fishes, he gave it to some specific group of people first. Over five thousand people were on that field that day but when it was time for sharing and distribution, he gave to the disciples first!
There is a special place in the agenda of God that is reserved for only the disciples. You may argue that we are all equal before God and He is no respecter of persons but then you must realize that among sons, there are sons.
We are equal in salvation but we are not gifted the same way. Hear this:
Matthew 25:14 “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.”
Matthew 25:15 “And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.”
Many people are born again, spirit filed, tongue talking but are not disciples. A disciple is one who pays the price of followership and diehard obedience. I’ve met several believers who still run their lives on the dictates of the flesh. They are like those other men who only want bread but not the bread Provider.
In the midst of the multitude Jesus separated his disciples and gave them first. There were many followers of Jesus who are entitled to his blessings, but he made his disciples the custodian.
He knew for instance that the disciples will not hoard the bread, they will distribute it as instructed. Can heaven make you a custodian of the blessings?
A disciple is one that is entrusted with the secrets of the Divine. They are the ones that knows the ways of God. They don’t just see the miracle, they know how to generate it.
