John 6:11 “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down and likewise of the fishes as much as they would”

One other thing I noticed about thanksgiving on this occasion is that it broke the hold of limitation over the bread. Physically speaking, there was no way five loaves and two fishes could feed those five thousand hungry men because it is limited.

What Jesus did was to break the power of limitation that kept the bread and fishes little. I noticed two key things he did. One was to give thanks as we have discussed. The truth is that whatever we have can become much, by the power of thanksgiving.

The second thing Jesus did was powerful as well. He distributed the bread! Jesus was the Master, he was the convener of the meeting, the preacher, the miracle worker, the counsellor and so on. If anybody was fatigued and famished during that meeting it was certainly Jesus.

He had been ministering to people and was yet to eat. If anybody needed food and energy at that moment it was Jesus. But the only thing on his mind was the thought of feeding the multitude. He therefore went ahead to distribute the small boy’s food.

When you share, distribute or give, you set multiplication in motion by destroying the power of limitation. Hear this:

John 12:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die it abideth alone: but if it die it bringeth forth much fruit.”

Jesus knew that holding unto the small meal will never trigger harvest. He saw the small boy’s food as a seed for multiplication. Many people want harvest but they will never let go of what is in their hands.

When you let go of what is in your hand, God will let go of what is in his own hands and trust me, His hands are far bigger than yours. When you share what is in your hands, the hold of limitation is broken over it and you can never quantify how large it can grow.

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom…”

Distributing the little you have is to engage the power of limitlessness, use it!
