John 6: 10 “And Jesus said Make the men sit down Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down in number about five thousand.”

The first thing Jesus said to his disciples was that they should make the men to sit down. The challenge God has with many people is inability to take this position.

Sitting connotes rest! A smart believer must know how to completely rest in the Lord. Many times, we keep fighting, laboring and sweating using our very limited strength instead of resting and leaning on God.

As long as you feel you can do it on your own, God steps aside and allow you. The Holy Ghost doesn’t struggle with men, He is a gentle Spirit. He allows you to use your will. Hear this:

Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”

There is a promise of rest but only to those who “come”. Until you invoke the rest dimension in the spirit, you will keep laboring under a heavy yoke. As a matter of fact, the only labour you should do as a New Testament believer is to enter into God’s rest.

Hebrews 4:9 “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”

Hebrews 4:10 “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.”

Hebrews 4:11 “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”

The Bible says that any man that has entered into God’s rest has ceased from his own works. In order words, he just flows along with what has been completed by Jesus already. He leans completely upon the finished work of Christ.

To enter into God’s rest or to sit down means amongst others; to listen for divine instructions and guidance. It is easier to listen to someone who knows the road than to try and figure things out all by yourself.

The Holy Spirit knows all roads and not only that, He knows the best one that will get you to your desired destination.
