John 6:8 “One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,”
John 6:9 “There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?”
At every junction in life and destiny, we all need an Andrew. If we don’t meet them, our journeys will not only be slow but we might not get to the expected destination. Hear this:
Genesis 37:15 “And a certain man found him and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him saying What seekest thou?”
Genesis 37:16 “And he said I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks.”
Genesis 37:17 “And the man said They are departed hence; for I heard them say Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan.”
Joseph was sent by his father to go check on his brothers at their last known location. On getting there, they had moved and Joseph began to wonder. He was almost lost until he met a “certain man” who bailed him out.
We don’t know for how long he kept wondering but the information he so badly needed was revealed to him and he got back on track.
The Bible said he met a “certain man”, let me shock you; the Greek word Andrew is interpreted to mean “certain man”!
Philip was lost and completely clueless, he had told Jesus that, there is no possibility of feeding those men. In order words he was wondering until a certain man (Andrew) showed up to supply an information that set the miracle in motion!
Friend, we all need to encounter our Andrews on daily basis. Until the “certain man” shows up we might keep wondering.
So, who is Andrew?
An Andrew is one who even though does not understand the full detail of where you want to go in life, is ready to contribute his own quota. Andrew in this story doesn’t know what Jesus can do with a small boy’s lunch, but he was willing to support with any information that might help!
