WORSHIP AND PRAISE
Luke 17:15 “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed turned back and with a loud voice glorified God,”

Luke 17:16 “And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks and he was a Samaritan.”

There are two things that always trigger heaven to act on behalf of a man, they are worship and praise. Another word for these two are glorifying God and giving him thanks.

This one leper use these combo for Jesus. Glory or worship and praise or thanksgiving are forces that always provokes heaven to action on behalf of man. However, what do they mean?

Giving God glory or worshiping Him is a sign of honour and adoration. When glorifying God, all you’re doing is telling Him who He is and letting the whole world know. This is just talking about and showing forth His might and power.

When you adore God, you’re declaring His awesomeness, capacity and capability. This comes from a deep knowledge of God’s attributes. That is why you hear David say things like:

Psalms 24:8 “Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.”

Those are expressions of worship or giving God glory. You do this not because of what God has done but because of WHO HE IS!

Praise and thanksgiving on the other hand is thanking God specifically for what He has done. In order words, “Saying THANK YOU to GOD”. This is a full expression of gratitude. One of the most powerful words in the world both to God and man are these two words, “Thank you”.

The world is full of ingrates. People who think they deserve whatever God or man does for them. These are people who takes things for granted. They are ungrateful folks who behaved like the other nine lepers.

Those other nine lepers equally got healed, they knew it and felt it. Assuming they went to show themselves to the priest why didn’t they come back to the one that sent them? Very simple “ingratitude”.

Why not pray that: Lord, I receive a grateful heart in Jesus name.
