Luke 17:17 “And Jesus answering said Were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine?”

Jesus paid attention to details. He was aware of every miracle that took place. He was accountable to the Father. The principle of accountability has to do with faithfulness.

It will interest you to know that another word for accountability is responsibility! This talks about the ability to explain and be answerable or liable for whatever is committed into ones hand.

When this particular leper returned, the first thing Jesus asked was, were are the remaining nine. He knew the details of what left the banks of heaven the moment their healing took place.

Beloved, heaven keeps record, they know the details of the miracles you have enjoyed which you refuse to acknowledge. The number of tithes and offering you didn’t pay. The principle of accountability is one that is very paramount before the Father.

Jesus showed us throughout his earthly ministry this principle. Hear this:

John 6:12 “When they were filled he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain that nothing be lost”

John 6:13 “Therefore they gathered them together and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten”

John 17:12 “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept and none of them is lost but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled”

Can you beat that? Jesus after feeding the five thousand men excluding women and children asked them to gather up the fragments so that nothing will be wasted. Is it that the One who used five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitude cannot reenact the miracle?

Of course he can, but the truth is that he was teaching us accountability, responsibility and wastage prevention.

He also went ahead to show us in John 17:12 that everyone the Lord gave to him in ministry were all saved and none was lost except the son of perdition.

To be continued…
