STANDING AFAR OFF-2
Luke 17:12 “And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:”
Psalms 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
Note carefully that he didn’t say as far as the North is from the South. He used East to West. Here is why:
The distance between east to west is immeasurable! You can start traveling east around the world, and just keep going and keep going. Science tells us that; if you lived to be a thousand years old, and went around the world every day of that one thousand years, you still would be traveling east.
That is not the case with north and south. If you traveled north, you would one day pass the North Pole and begin to travel south.
Friend, Jesus didn’t take our sins away so that we can meet them again, he took them to the sea of forgetfulness. It is the devil that will always want to keep them fresh in our minds, so that we can feel unclean like those lepers and therefore stay afar off.
The devil knows that as long as you fall under condemnation, you cannot be bold in the place of prayer, so he keeps you there for as long as possible. He want to keep you in a place where you’ll feel alienated from God.
Friend, hear this truth and never ever forget it:
Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”
Ephesians 2:13 “But now, in union with Christ Jesus you, who used to be far away, have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (GNB)
The power in the blood of Jesus has brought us near, restoring us to fellowship with the Father. Not only that:
Ephesians 2:14 “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;”
The Lord has broken down the wall of partition between us and we have peace with God.
